The "NeXus" project will build up a strategic and interdisciplinary network, including the development of an integrative masters course and structured PhD programme. The core strategic partnership involves five universities, including EuroTech Universities DTU, EPFL and TUM, the National Technical University of Athens in Greece and the NSF Engineering Research Center on Reinventing Urban Water Systems in the US. The project will also involve universities from Africa. TUM will foster its strategic water research focus through one of the most essential grand challenges of the near future: the nexus of water, food and energy. Commonly, the three resources are treated independently but reality shows that they are closely interrelated. Members of the strategic core partnership include Prof. Peter Rutschmann, Prof. Stephan Pauleit and Dr. Eva Sandman at TUM; Prof. Stefan Trapp at DTU; and Prof. Anton Schleiss at EPFL.
