E-learning Course // Solar Powered Irrigation Systems

The GIZ Powering Agriculture Team has supported University Ostfalia to develop an e-learning course on Solar Powered Irrigation Systems. The course will be entirely online and look at sustainable water management, solar pumping essentials, planning and implementation, and operation and maintenance. E-tutors will support the students throughout the course.

Who can participate?

Agricultural extension officers, farmers, bankers, academic, relevant NGO and government staff, and other interested parties. Basic knowledge of agriculture, water management and irrigation, and intermediate English language skills are expected.

Duration

The SPIS course will take place between 18 June and 30 July 2019 and the workload will be approximately 27 hours. The course will draw from the SPIS toolbox on Energypedia.
