Online Seminar // The Nexus and International Relations: The Case of Hydropower Projects and the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam

UNU-FLORES, in collaboration with PRISMA – Centre for Sustainability Assessment and Policy on behalf of TU Dresden, presents the 58th seminar in the Nexus Seminar Series on the Nexus and International Relations.

Nexus seminar series 17 jan

17 January 2022 | 2:50 - 4:20pm GMT+1

About the Event

This seminar addresses a nexus approach for international relations in hydropower. Given the technical and domestic scope of prevailing nexus research, the seminar will explore a transboundary nexus governance perspective on overcoming cooperation challenges related to the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) and other hydropower dams.

This Nexus Seminar edition will commence with presentations from the four speakers, followed by a panel discussion in which the audience is invited and encouraged to contribute actively by raising questions or comments.

Following the engaging discussion, the seminar will conclude the next steps.

Nexus Seminar Series

UNU-FLORES, in collaboration with PRISMA – Centre for Sustainability Assessment and Policy on behalf of TU Dresden, is delighted to present the Nexus Seminar Series. The joint seminar series, which launched in 2015, features lectures by senior scholars and successful practitioners that highlight all dimensions of research on the Nexus Approach, ranging from hands-on implementation strategies to theoretical debates. The Nexus Seminars serve not only as a platform for scientific exchange and cooperation between UNU-FLORES and TU Dresden but also as a medium for the partner institutions to discuss their research with a broader audience.

Taking place once a month, each seminar is open to the public and under the current circumstances will be delivered via a virtual Zoom video conference.
