Circle of Blue
Circle of Blue is the international network of leading journalists, scientists and communications design experts that reports and presents the information necessary to respond to the global freshwater crisis. It is a nonprofit independent affiliate of the internationally recognized water, climate and policy think tank, the Pacific Institute.

Up to 20 selected journalists from developing countries across Asia will be sponsored by UN-Water to participate in a workshop which will include training and editorial sessions, meetings/interviews with experts and participation in the official UN celebration of World Water Day 2014. Application is now open, deadline for application is 10 Feb 2014.

Circle of Blue, a team of journalists and researchers reporting on water and worldwide resource issues, today launched Choke Point: Index, a dynamic on-the-ground journalism and data project that reveals the globally significant competition between water, food, and energy. The first phase, called “Dry Fields, Dirty Water,” explores three critical, water-challenged agricultural regions in the United States, and was announced during the International Water Summit in Abu Dhabi.

WASH Media Award: Six journalists win prestigious media awards geared towards improving reporting on water, sanitation and hygiene
Media in general and journalists in particular are key partners for sanitation, hygiene and water sector professionals in their awareness raising, advocacy and behaviour change work. Journalists play a central role in the highlighting of water and gender related issues and positioning of women as environmental leaders. They greatly contribute to bringing in the spotlight the too often neglected issues of the necessity of toilets and hand washing for a dignified, safe and healthy life for billions of people. The WASH Media Awards, organized by SIWI and WSSCC, two leading sector organizations, take a clear stand that it is not only necessary, but vital.
