Abstract

The world has passed the second wave of urbanisation with more than 50% of the population now living in urban areas. This is the setting for growing challenges regarding the increasing consumption of water, energy and food, along with ever more wastewater and emissions. The session will focus on nitrogen, phosphor and water cycles within cities and discuss appropriate recommendations for local and international policies concerning the consumption and quality of water and energy.
