Symposium // "Water Supply Planning in a Non-Stationary World", The 4th UF Water Institute Symposium, Floriad/USA

Several inter-disziplinary approaches on how to secure water security in future times will be discussed on this conference. One of the panels focusses on the nexus approach.

Speakers

Plenary speakers for the Conference include: -Dr. Jerad Bales, Chief Scientist for Hydrology, US Geological Survey, Reston VA -Dr. Ben Strauss, Director of the Program on Sea Level Rise, Climate Central, New York NY -Dr. Robert Lempert, Director, Center for Longer Range Global Policy and the Future Human Condition; and Senior Scientist Rand Corporation, Santa Monica CA Presentations, posters sessions and panel discussions will focus on integrating new research, education, policy and technology developments in the following areas: -Impacts of changing drivers on water resources -Water quality protection and treatment -Managing water for people and the environment -Water security: the water-energy-food nexus -Science, stakeholders and decision-making Student poster authors are eligible to compete for "Best Poster" awards based on the quality of the abstract, poster and discussion. Three poster winners will receive prizes of $1000 each to be used as funding to support future participation at a national conference.
