The topic of the conversation on May 19 is "Agroecological and Regenerative Solutions for Stronger Communities." Among the invited speakers are Helena Leurent (Director General of Consumers International), Denisa Livingston (food justice organizer of the Diné Community Advocacy Alliance / Slow Food International), Tjada D’Oyen McKenna (Chief Executive Officer of Mercy Corps) and Lana Weidgenant (Deputy Director of Zero Hour International).

About the series

The virtual monthly panel series presents interviews with over 25 UN Food System Champion Network members, including activists, journalists, business leaders, farmers, policy and technical experts. It is co-hosted by Danielle Nierenberg and Ruth Richardson and presented by the International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD), the Global Alliance on the Future of Food, and Food Tank.

Inspired by one of the Global Alliance of the Future of Food’s seven bold Calls to Action, each of the in total seven panels will help set the stage and identify critical pathways to create a better future for food and strengthen our global food systems for the UN Food Systems Summit in September 2021.

The next panel of the series will take place on June 10 and will focus on "Enriching and Diversifying Diets".

A recording of the past panel sessions themed "Investing in a More Resilient Food System" from April 27, on "Developing Sustainable Fiscal Policy for the Food System" from April 6 as well as on "The Hidden Costs of Food Systems" from March 11 are available on the Food Tank's youtube channel.
