In this workshop, the SGWI partners presentations will focus on: defining and overcoming the challenges for household water treatment systems and long-term community engagement through advances in viral pathogen and chemical contaminant control and sensing, economic design solutions for subsistence, redefining safe water practices, and understanding the cultural impact of implementing new water technologies; and defining and overcoming the challenge of controlling waste water contamination through be redefining the traditional role of energy, turning waste water from a burden into a renewable, safe, and community valued resource through innovative membrane based recovery systems.
