Session “Managing the Water-Energy-Food Nexus” at the Regional Dialogue on Extractive Industry Governance and Infrastructure, ECLAC, Santiago, Chile
The governance of natural resources and infrastructure emerge among the fundamental challenges for the implementation of Agenda 2030 in Latin America and the Caribbean. Countries have struggled to convert export boom periods of these natural resources in long term processes of economic and social development. In turn, the lack of adequate infrastructure and the inefficient provision of services are major obstacles to effective implementation of public policies focused on equality, full achievement of economic and social development goals as well as the realization of the objectives of regional integration.
With this context in consideration, between 7 and 11 November 2016 the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) organizes the Regional Dialogue on Extractive Industry Governance and Infrastructure. In this Dialogue a session is included about managing the NEXUS Water-Energy-Food.
