Webinar // Flowing Forward: Navigating Water Sustainability in Agriculture on the Road to COP28

As the global community gears up for COP28, the pressing issue of water sustainability in agriculture commands our attention. This webinar sheds light on innovative tools and methodologies paving the way for sustainable water management, especially in the Asia-Pacific region. Attendees will learn about the significance of real water savings, better understand the importance of irrigation performance, preview the benefits of consumption-based water management, and be presented with an extensive analysis of water modelling capacities in the Asia-Pacific Region.

Together with the FAO’s Inter-Regional Technical Platform on Water Scarcity and the Australian Water Partnership, RAP has developed a series of three webinars to launch the Next Generation Water Management Policy Briefs.

This first webinar, ‘Flowing Forward: Navigating Water Sustainability in Agriculture on the Road to COP28’, will present innovative tools and methodologies for sustainable water management across Asia and the Pacific region. You are warmly invited to attend on Thursday 19 October at 2pm GMT+7 | 9am CET | 5pm AEDT.

Participants will learn about:

  • Real water savings in agriculture and enhancement of crop-water productivity using a Real Water Savings tool and water accounting methodologies
  • Irrigation performance benchmarking to improve overall productivity of irrigational services
  • Application of consumption-based water management in irrigation-dependent regions across Asia
  • Water modelling capabilities across the Asia-Pacific region and their role in policy development and execution.
