Workshop // Water and Energy in Rural Communities
The Dŵr Uisce team is organizing the workshop "Water and Energy in rural communities" to be held in Kilkenny, Ireland. We are doing this with the support of the Group Water Schemes Federation in Ireland.
Objectives
The objectives of the workshop are:
- To enhance the connection between members of Group Water Schemes in Ireland and researchers of the Dwr Uisce, local legislators and practitioners.
- To present, discuss and learn from some of our case-studies in the area of energy recovery from water distribution systems and wastewater systems, including installation of hydropower turbines, pump optimisation and leakage reduction.
- Create learning, sharing and learning opportunities to members of our Water and Energy Smart Specialization Cluster

- Companies, HEI and other stakeholders interested in Energy and Water saving challenges
