About this event
The overall goal of this session is to engage in a policy and investment dialogue on end-user financing to enhance climate adaptation in Africa. With all four Water and Energy for Food (WE4F) Regional Innovation Hubs now established in Africa (West, East, MENA and Southern/Central), this session brings together the combined force, learnings and opportunities for scaling WEF innovations to improve water and food security for millions of Africans, increase income for base of the pyramid women and men in both rural and urban areas, support innovators’ WEF nexus solutions to scale, and promote climate and environmental resilience. Through a policy and investment lens co-hosted by AMCOW, this session shares the opportunities and challenges for scaling WEF nexus solutions in Africa in a multi-partner, multi-innovator model, building on the legacy of predecessor programs, from Powering Agriculture: An Energy Grand Challenge for Development (PAEGC) and Securing Water for Food (SWFF) Grand Challenge. Finally, it will bring together diverse actors such as policy-makers, donor partners, investors, innovators, and hub management teams in the WEF nexus innovation value chain to speak frankly about the impact these interventions have had on the ground in Africa, and the degree to which the policy and investment landscape is geared to support this drive.
