Re-framing silos to accelerate development pathways

and provides the opportunity to form new alliances, innovative public-private partnerships and social impact for development of projects and initiatives which can have cross sectoral benefits while being socially, economically and environmentally sustainable. Projects which have a nexus perspective require the right policies, incentives and encouragement at national, regional and global levels. Institutions and leaders must be up to the task, supported by appropriate frameworks that encourage empowerment, research, information and education. Involvement of the private sector needs to be accelerated by establishing and promoting the business case for sustainability through a nexus perspective to drive change at the right scale. Donors and investors play a key role in developing and influencing development projects and interventions. Donor policies can be effective in providing not only seed funding but also for the multiplier effect in promoting solutions and investments that benefit across sectors. This seminar will explore and discuss the drivers and incentives for donors and investors to finance nexus projects, while aligning with development priorities.
