Launch of the Earth Security Index // "A New Index for a Better Understanding of Global Resource Security", London/UK
On this event, the Earth Security Index, "a Framework for Navigating Resource Risks and Opportunities", is presented to the public. The index measures the extend to which polticical and economical conditions are altered by resource scarcity. The event intends to start a new strategic debate - transsectoral and global.
The event in the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office in London will launch the Earth Security Index, which measures the scope and magnitude of the resource pressures that will change the political and operational conditions of many countries and opens a strategic discussion across sectors. The debate explores the common agenda that governments, industry and civil society can pursue to support a faster transition towards resilient investments.
Business faces the increasing prospect of instability in many countries as pressure mounts on access to land, water, food and energy. This access is further complicated by changes in frequency and severity of extreme weather events.
