Working closely with the STEPPING UP project team, located from Exeter to Dundee, and Surrey to Glasgow, the researcher will have responsibility for interpreting case studies, collected data, practitioner practices and policies for governance, into agent types and rules. He/she will show how the selection of different scenarios and alternative forms of innovation would reduce undesirable Nexus impacts. The model to be developped will be scaled up with support from the Science and Technology Facilities Council to run with Big Data at high performance.
The researcher will collaborate to produce and disseminate findings for academic audiences and peer-reviewed journals as well as practitioner audiences.
He/she should have a first degree in a field relevant to complexity science or complex engineering systems such as computer science, engineering, applied mathematics (or equivalent) plus a PhD in a relevant area. Previous experience of water, energy and/or food sectors is highly desirable.
Experience of inter-disciplinary research is desirable, as are excellent communication skills including experience of academic writing.
