International Workshop on the Implementation of the Water-Energy-Food (WEF) Nexus at different scales for Socio-Economic Development
This workshop as part of the 26th ICID International Congress and the 77th International Executive Council will convene global experts to advance integrated, scalable solutions across water, energy, and food systems.

The Workshop is being organised by the ICID’s Working Group on Water Food Energy Nexus
(WG-WFE_N) as part of the 26th ICID International Congress and 77th International Executive Council. It is jointly organised with FAO, IWMI and ICARDA.
The workshop
The session will explore how WEF Nexus approaches can accelerate progress toward Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by addressing system interdependencies, trade-offs, and synergies across scales, from basin to national and transboundary levels.
It will also highlight inclusive governance frameworks, interactive modelling tools, policy and institutional mechanisms, and the integration of socio-economic and cultural dimensions, with particular attention to farmers’ resilience, income improvement, and resource efficiency.
