Water-Energy Nexus // Saving Water and Energy Together: Helping Utilities Build Better Programs

By Rachel Young. The water-energy linkage means that efficiency programs that save water will also save energy and vice versa. On the supply side, this intersection is apparent in the massive amounts of water needed to produce and deliver electricity while huge amounts of energy are required to treat and transport water. On the end-use side, energy and water are connected in our homes, businesses, and industrial facilities.
