Interview // Margaret Catley-Carlson: "Conferences like this one are a way to start talking about the future that we need to create"

In this video interview Mrs. Catley-Carlson states the end of the golden age of inexhaustible water resources as a consequence of global population growth. By using the image of a triangle, Mrs. Catley-Carlson illustrates the increasing interconnections within the water, energy and food security nexus. Moreover, Mrs. Catley-Carlson underscores that any progress of the society based on growth creates new problems which can be jointly solved by international conferences like the Bonn2011 Nexus Conference. In the context of Green Economy Mrs. Catley-Carlson advocates that concepts for water and energy efficiency should be taken more into account, such as the reuse of treated wastewater in buildings or the improved availability of public transport systems in cities. #include:video:jwplayer:video/wef_catley-carlson.flv //The video-interview was produced on the second meeting of the International Steering Committee (ISC) from 30 to 31 of March 2011 in Bonn. #p:similar/title = More about Margaret Catley-Carlson #include:show_streamlist_related:tags_en = "Catley-Carlson, Margaret" #p:similar/title = More Interviews #include:show_streamlist_related:tags_en = "interview"
