Workshop // WEF NEXUS-SDGs Position Paper
This workshop is part of the framework “EC Nexus Dialogues – Phase I (2016-2018)”. The main objectives of the workshop will be to validate the draft document compiling all the contributions and to generate conclusions and recommendations to address the needs of institutions and organisations implementing the WEF Nexus in practice, including quality control of relevant projects, design criteria for these, and demonstration of the added-value and benefits occurring from the investment.
A collection of water-focused organisations and beyond have contributed short papers on this topic under four different themes:
- i) Governance and Institutions,
- ii) WEF Nexus tools/models/data,
- iii) Sustainable Technological Approaches and Solutions, and
- iv) Nexus Investment and Financing.
Contributors have been identified under the coordination of JRC D2 “Water and Marine Resources Unit” and IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) and will constitute the core group of participants to the workshop.
The Position Paper’s main audience is DG DEVCO and the Delegations, providing further support to DG DEVCO for Phase II of the Nexus Dialogues project. For this reason, dissemination of the final document comprising a policy brief and the proceedings of the workshop will take place in collaboration with DEVCO.
