PRIMA Side Event @Tropentag 2026: From Demonstration to Transformation: Integrated Solutions for Water, Food, Agroforestry & Ecosystems in the Mediterranean
As part of Tropentag 2026, the PRIMA project TransforMed is leading a special joint session that brings together 10 PRIMA projects and two EU-funded projects for the first time to share experiences, lessons learned and perspectives on the way forward.
About the event
The Mediterranean region faces water scarcity, land degradation, biodiversity loss, and vulnerable food systems. To tackle these, the PRIMA programme funds innovative demonstration and research projects.
The session aims to:
- Synthesize emerging lessons on water harvesting, agroforestry, neglected & underutilised species (NUS), circular economy, and the WEFE (Water-Energy- Food-Ecosystems) nexus.
- Identify cross-cutting issues: upscaling, socio-economic inclusion, market integration, and policy coherence.
- Facilitate networking among researchers, practitioners, and policymakers.
Who should attend?
Researchers, practitioners, and policymakers working on water, food, agroforestry, and ecosystem resilience in the Mediterranean are invited to attend, in person in Göttingen or online.
