EMG Nexus Dialogues Series // Strengthening Partnerships between the Environmental and humanitarian Sectors in the Context of the Humanitarian Change Agenda and the SDGs

The second EMG (UN Environment Management Group) Nexus Dialogue to be held on 19 Oct 2017 in Geneva willbring UN agencies and other stakeholders closer together in identifying further synergies and partnerships at the intersection of the different Goals, and subsequently supporting the implementation of the environmental dimension of the 2030 Agenda in a more coherent and collaborative manner.

Workshops

The third EMG Nexus Dialogue will consist of two segments:

A Technical Segment from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
A High-Level Segment from 14:30 p.m. to 17:00 p.m.

The Technical Segment, after providing a picture on the links between the humanitarian and environmental sectors in the context of implementing the 2030 Agenda, will look at examples of humanitarian-environment initiatives to deliberate on the lessons learned and avenues for strengthening short and long term collaboration, between these two sectors at global as well as country level. While open to all participants, the High Level Segment will feature a high level panel discussion based on the outcomes of the technical segment, to share strategic views and perspectives on the current collaboration between the two sectors, and opportunities and issues for furthering partnerships between the environmental and humanitarian sectors in the context of the 2030 Agenda.
