Sdewes 2013
The conference is devoted to scientists, engineers, policy makers, students and other interested parties in the field of sustainable development. The first six SDEWES conferences were successfully held in Dubrovnik, organized by the University of Zagreb and Instituto Superior Tecnico in Lisbon, under the patronage of UNESCO - Paris, the European Commission, DG RTD, FP INCO Programme and other partner institutions, organisations and networks.

Scope and Objectives

The SDEWES conference is dedicated to the improvement of knowledge on methods, policies and technologies for increasing the sustainability of development by de-coupling growth from natural resources and replacing these with knowledge based economy. It will comprise all facets in sustainability research and development. This includes traditional topics, such as assessment methodologies, including life cycle assessment, transport system analysis or product cycle assessment as well as energy-related issues, including energy system analysis, renewable energy resources, primary energy resources, biofuels and bio refineries, thermal power plants or district heating and cooling infrastructures in future energy systems.
