Webinar // The Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystem Nexus: How to improve governance and accountability
The Bonn Water Network and the Water Integrity Network (WIN) are hosting a webinar to discuss best practises and remaining challenges in WEFE-Nexus governance. This webinar is meant for WEFE Nexus stakeholders to share knowledge and learn from WEFE Nexus research and ongoing and evolving governance and integrity mechanisms and frameworks.
The Water-Energy-Food-Ecosystem (WEFE) Nexus recognises the interlinkages between the water, food, energy, and environment sectors and highlights the importance of integrated solutions to address climate change issues with minimal, concerted trade-offs. In recent years, the WEFE Nexus has gained political traction as an important perspective to consider for achieving the ambitious climate targets of the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals.
Integrity is about achieving equity and sustainability in the water, energy, food, and environment sectors by strengthening transparency, accountability, and participation, along with reinforced anti-corruption measures (TAP-A) in every aspect of natural resources governance. It can make WEFE Nexus processes more efficient and effective, and help attract Nexus-related investments. Building capacity of stakeholders to understand and address integrity challenges in WEFE initiatives must therefore be a priority.
This webinar is meant for WEFE Nexus stakeholders to share knowledge and learn from WEFE Nexus research and ongoing and evolving governance and integrity mechanisms and frameworks.
