Nexus Conference Chapel Hill // Draft Outcome Message

The draft outcome message from the Nexus Conference is available. A new version will be produced for the conference to have available and a final version after the conference will be circulated to the member states for their consideration when they are preparing the Ministerial Declaration for the UN High-Level Political Forum.

About the Conference

The Nexus Conference in Chapel Hill will take place on 16-18 April 2018.

The “Nexus” approach is the one that focuses on overlaps across sectors while respecting sectoral expertise in order to make better plans by understanding interactions. The Water Institute at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is pleased to announce our intention to reconvene our Nexus conference addressing Water-Energy-Food and Climate in spring of 2018.This will be the second Nexus Conference that The Water Institute has organized.

The contradictory development objectives for water, energy and food security in Bolivia generate conflicts of interest between ministries, and also between authorities and institutions in the provinces and municipalities: each institution wants to support especially its sector, be it water, energy or rural.
