The International Steering Committee consists of high-ranking personalities from the relevant sectors of politics, civil society and the private sector. The Steering Committee will advise the government in technical, political and institutional questions concerning the preparation and implementation of the conference. It will meet three times in the run-up to the Bonn2011 Nexus Conference.
Uschi Eid (Co-Chair)
is Vice-Chair of the UN Secretary GeneralÂ´s Advisory Board on Water and Sanitation (UNSGAB). From 1998 to 2005, Mrs. Eid served as Parliamentary State Secretary for the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
Albert Butare (Co-Chair)
is former Minister of Energy and Water in the Republic of Rwanda and is currently Chief Executive Officer of Fatracs Co Limited. Mr. Butare also was the Academic Deputy Vice Chancellor of the Kigali Institute of Science and Technology and represented the Government of Rwanda in international climate change discussions.
is Chairman of the Coordination Committee on Climate Change of the African Development Bank (AfDB). Mr. Abou-Sabaa has over 28 years of diverse experience in the fields of infrastructural development, water resources management and agriculture projects in Africa, Asia, and the USA.
is Director of the United Nations University Institute for Water, Environment and Health (UNU-INWEH) in Hamilton, Canada and current Chair to UN-Water. Mr. Adeel has a vast experience in a variety of water and environmental issues, including monitoring and control of water pollution, and water management in dry areas.
Mohamed Ait Kadi
is Technical Committee Chair of the Global Water Partnership (GWP) and former Governor of the World Water Council. Mr. Ait Kadi is also President of the General Council of Agricultural Development in Morocco and Professor at the Institute of Agronomy and Veterinary Medicine Hassan II in Rabat, Morocco.
