New Cooperation // Xyntéo and Shell collaborate on water-energy-food stress nexus

Royal Dutch Shell and Xyntéo have begun work on a new project that aims to uncover leadership behaviours that make cross-sector collaborations work — specifically those addressing challenges in the water-energy-food stress nexus.

The ultimate goal of the project is to investigate why collaborations are difficult and sometimes fail, and identify the leadership behaviours that can make them work. Gabrielle Walker, Xyntéo's chief scientist, who is directing the project, said: "Collaboration is at the heart of what we do as a company and we recognise the fundamental importance of good leadership, so we are enormously excited about this project. We have seen many collaborations blossom in recent times and we hope that this project can help to facilitate more, which will be beneficial to a multiplicity of stakeholders including industry, government and society as a whole."
