About the GFFA 2026
The theme of this year’s GFFA is “Water. Harvests. Our Future.”
The global community has already placed water resilience at the center of the global political agenda. With the UN Water Conference in 2023, momentum was created for water. The GFFA 2026 takes up this impetus for greater commitment, efficiency, and cooperation in water policy to pool forces to ensure that both the concerns and needs as well as possible solutions of farmers are incorporated into the new international momentum. Let us use the GFFA and the subsequent UN Water Conference 2026 to give agriculture, forestry, and fisheries a strong voice and to bring international attention to the topic of “water and food security.” Ensuring sufficient clean water is an essential factor: without water, there is no food!
Focus are on the following four themes:
1. Use water sustainably
2. Strengthen the blue bioeconomy
3. Address competing uses constructively
4. Strengthen international water governance
