For the 3rd time the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Arab Republic of Egypt is organizing the Cairo Water Week. This year's event will focus on “Water Security for Peace and Development in Arid Regions” and be a milestone for the upcoming World Water Forum taking place in Dakar in 2021.
A secure water world is emerging as a top human development priority on the sustainable development agenda. To this end, Cairo Water Week 2020, is marking this year’s version of CWW series of conferences, with the theme “Water Security in Arid Regions” the Road to Dakar 2021, emphasizing how water is an
essential asset to all aspects of our lives including livelihood, health, economy and environment. Ensuring more equitable and sustainable access to water will ensure more progressive efforts towards reducing poverty and building peace to give practical transformative effect to the Sustainable Development Goals. Cairo Water Week 2020 is not a one-off event, but rather part of a series of activities aimed at better connecting water organizations and wider water sector industries, regional interests, and communities. It is considered one of the biggest water-related events at the national, regional and international levels. It is an annual event organized by the Egyptian Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, under the patronage of H.E. Mr. Abdel Fatah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, in collaboration with national, regional and international partners.
