DutchDubai // The Interconnection of Water, Energy and Food presented at the Dutch Pavilion at the Expo 2020 in Dubai, UAE

The Dutch pavilion in the World Expo, hosted by Dubai in the United Arab Emirates in 2020, will focus on the interconnection of water, energy and food. As the second-largest exporter of agricultural products in the world, the Netherlands wants to support collaboration as well as minimising the footprint of our interactive ecosystem by building the pavilion with local resources and locally rented building materials.

Conference // Water Storage and Hydropower Development for Africa

The connection of energy and water is most obvious in electricity generation through hydropower. Plus dams have an important impact on the environemtn, on water availability upstream and downstream, and thus on food production and food security. The AFRICA 2019 conference will bring together industry professionals in Namibia, a country with a variety of dams, to discuss water and energy issues relevant to Africa.

Nexus Regional Dialogue MENA // The National Dialogue Meeting on Water, Energy and Food Nexus in Sudan

On October 30th 2018, the Nexus Regional Dialogue in the Middle East and North Africa hosted a meeting for senior officials from relevant organizations and ministries in Sudan as well as experts from the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development. Main focus of the meeting was an evaluation study on the Nexus in Sudan, which aims at integrating water, energy and food security into national strategies, policies and operational plans.

Nexus Event Report // Resource Nexus Policy & Cluster Workshop in Brussels

On the 27 November, the Resource Nexus Policy & Cluster Workshop kicked off with 60 participants present at EASME premises in Brussels. Various Nexus projects and stakeholder discussed about challenges and opportunities in translating the Nexus approach from research into practice. Furthermore, ideas were shared for joint activities and cooperation.
