XIX World Water Congress – Water in a Changing World: Innovation and Adaptation
The XIX World Water Congress 2025 in Marrakech will bring together global experts, policymakers, and innovators to shape sustainable water solutions under the theme “Water in a Changing World: Innovation and Adaptation.”
About the Event
The XIX World Water Congress is dedicated to exploring how water systems can adapt to a rapidly changing world through innovation, collaboration, and resilience. Participants will share knowledge, showcase solutions, and discuss strategies to ensure sustainable water management across regions and sectors. Recognizing the interconnections between water, land, energy, food, health, and ecosystems, the Congress will promote integrated approaches to water governance and resource management.
The World Water Congress is a vital part of the international water dialogue, aligning with major global frameworks and upcoming events such as the UN 2026 Water Conference, the IWRA 2nd Islands Water Congress (2026), and the World Water Forum (2027). It also supports the broader goals of the Sustainable Development Agenda, especially SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation for All, as well as international commitments under climate and biodiversity conventions.
Programme
The Congress will feature a dynamic and interdisciplinary programme spanning five days of knowledge exchange, innovation, and collaboration. Building on IWRA’s long tradition of convening global water experts, the Congress programme combines scientific sessions, high-level dialogues, and practical field experiences to deliver a truly comprehensive exploration of the world’s water challenges and opportunities.
