6th Annual Conference on Water Finance and Investment

About the Event

The 6th Annual Conference on Water Finance and Investment will take place on 13–14 October 2025 in Cairo, Egypt, within the framework of Cairo Water Week. This high-level gathering, co-organized by the Union for the Mediterranean and the EU Delegation in Cairo, will bring together policymakers, financial institutions, and sector experts to discuss innovative ways to mobilize finance for the water sector. With sessions ranging from the role of banks to international development finance and EU water policy, the conference provides a unique platform to exchange knowledge and shape strategies for sustainable water investments across the region.

Sessions

The Conference will include:

• A High-Level Panel

• Three sessions on:

  • the role of domestic commercial banks (with UAB)

  • national public development banks (with OECD)

  • international development banks

• A session on EU policies and actors

• A session on the integration of water finance in international water processes
